Olivia’s Story
This was Olivia’s Kitchen. And she saw problems…lots of problems. To name a few, she didn’t like the way it looked. It looked cramped, it had countless ugly stains, she couldn’t reach the top shelf of the cabinets, and she couldn’t sit down and drink her morning coffee at her kitchen island because it was too small.
When she first bought the home, she remembers she liked her kitchen and she was proud of it. She enjoyed the time she spent in her new kitchen cooking dinner for her loving family and brewing her morning coffee to kickstart her day.
But now, she doesn’t see the same kitchen she saw 30 years ago. The kitchen has grown old with nasty stains and things kept on cramping no matter how often and hard she cleaned. She wanted a change.
#1: New Kitchen Island
For the longest time Olivia wanted a kitchen island where she can cook and her family can use as a seating space. So we added a brand new kitchen island with white Quartz and as a bonus we added cabinets for more storage space.
#2: New Countertops
Her old one was filled with stains. So we wanted something that’s strong against stains: Quartz. A few benefit of using Quartz is that it has more design choice than granite, it is durable, it is easily cleanable and repairable.
#3 Kitchen Cabinets
Her old cabinets were also stained and it was hung too high for Olivia which made it impossible for her to reach them and use them. So we put a brand new cabinets with matching tiles and this time, we made sure she can reach them comfortably.
#4 More Space
We did 3 things to add more space:
(1) Added extra cabinets in the new kitchen island
(2) Made high hung cabinets accessible thus securing more storage.
(3) Increased the space between counter top and cabinet.
